Pastor S. W. Dotson Jr. was born in 1948. He is married to Thelma (Pierson) Dotson of 40 years. Pastor & First Lady Dotson have two sons, Shelton III(Wanda) and Arlo. He attended Theology from the Union Baptist Bible Seminary and Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.
Pastor Dotson accepted his calling into the ministry in 1985. He preached his license sermon in 1985 at
Second Cavalcade Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. M. Jones, and was ordained at Second Cavalcade under the leadership of Rev. Kenneth Johnson. He was an Associate Minister at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J. C. Neal when he accepted the Pastorship at Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church August 1999.
Pastor Dotson is considered a noted gospel preacher, teacher and pastor, whose reputation as a leader in his church and personal life is second to none. In addition to his current responsibilities, Pastor Dotson is currently employed as a bus driver for North Forest School
District. He also officiates high school baseball and serves on the Board of Houston TASO (Texas Association of Sports Officials) baseball chapter. Prior to that he worked 20 years at Celanese as a chemical operator and Haltermann Ltd as a loading rack shift supervisor.
Pastor Dotson's primary goals in life are to win souls for Jesus Christ and to teach the Body of Christ through teaching the Word of God. He aspires to be the best pastor, husband and father God would have him be. Pastor believes that in doing these things well, not only will he be blessed, but he will also be keeping with God's will.
